November 10th, 2012. The Bretts, Branson’s Best Morning Show, announced their second “Bretts For Vets” award winner during their show. After Andrea Brett recited her famous poem “I Am A Veteran,” Tom Brett joined her on stage to present the second annual “Bretts For Vets” award.
The “Bretts for Vets” award is a special recognition given to veterans, active servicemen, or anyone else who demonstrates exceptional patriotism and devotion to their country. This year’s award goes to the College of the Ozark’s Patriotic Education Travel Program. The program focuses on teaming up WWII veterans and students to revisit battlefields last seen over 70 years ago. The students walk with the veterans as they relive their experiences, and pass their stories of courage and sacrifice onto the next generation of Americans. The students are selected through a very competitive application process. They and the veterans travel at no cost to
them. Dr. Fred Mullinax, who first came up with the idea for the program, accepted the “Bretts For Vets” award on behalf of the college. Also in attendance were five WWII veterans, two holocaust survivors, and six C of O students whom had gone on one or more of the trips. When asked why the travel program was selected, Andrea Brett said “I’ve always had a soft place in my heart for our WWII Veterans. There is something very special about them – a unique humility and sense of gratitude. I’ve never met one who was willing to brag about their service – it was always just “my duty.” Each year there are fewer and fewer of these vets with us and I think it’s so important that somehow their legacy lives on. That is why I think the Patriotic Education
Travel Program is so awesome. It unites the rising generation with the “Greatest Generation,” and gives them the opportunity to learn firsthand from these wonderful veterans. Hopefully these students will carry what they have learned and felt on these trips into their roles as our future leaders.”

September 12, 2012. The Bretts Show, Branson’s Best Morning Show (BransonShowAwards.com & BransonCritic.com), welcomes back their youngest member Garon Brett. For two years Garon has been in Bogota, Colombia serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. “I am excited to be back in Branson continuing the work I was doing in Colombia, which was to improve people’s lives and help them want to be their best selves,” says Garon, “only this time it will be through music and entertainment.”
Garon is scheduled to rejoin the family on stage on Thursday, September 20th, 2012. Of Garon’s return to the show, his brother Brydon comments: “It is going to be great having Garon and his signature style back on the stage with us. I am excited for what he will bring to the new Brett brand.” Garon himself is a very gifted singer/songwriter. In 2011 a song he co-wrote called “Billboard Girl,” won grand prize in the NSAI/CMT Songwriting Contest, against some of the nation’s top writers. Garon’s return adds another exciting dimension and even more power to The Bretts already award winning show. “It is great to see how much the family has improved while I was away. The creativity of the music and overall production are astounding” says Garon, “It gives me a feeling of excitement for the near and distant future. This is really just the beginning of something great.”

Branson entertainment family returns home after 14 successful performances at one of Germany’s largest Christmas festivals, Triberger Weihnachtszauber.
January 13, 2012, Branson, MO - The Bretts just returned from a very successful Christmas festival in Triberg, located in the Black Forest region of Germany. The festival is known as “Triberger Weihnachtszauber,” or “Triberg Christmas Magic,” and is one of Germany’s largest Christmas festivals. Over 40,000 people attend the festival each year in the little tourist town of Triberg. While there, visitors enjoy Germany’s largest waterfall, festive decorations, great food, and non-stop performances from entertainers that come from all over the world.
The festival, now in its eighth year, runs from December 25th to the 30th, and was started by Thomas Weisser and Reiner Huber. “Thomas and Rainer are both visionary men, with a very professional setup,” said Brydon Brett. The Bretts performed 14 variations of their 2011 Christmas and regular season Branson show on both indoor and outdoor stages over the six day festival. “It was a lot of work performing and rehearsing, yet fun and relaxing,” said Brydon, “The chocolate, food, and sightseeing were all great as well. It is very beautiful over there, but the German people were the best thing about the trip. We just love the people over there.”
A large variety of acts shared the stages with The Bretts, ranging from local German stars to fire shows and gospel groups, which included another Branson favorite, Voices of Glory. “This was our fourth time to perform at the festival, and it looks very positive that we will go again this year. We are excited to be back in Branson, and are preparing for an exciting 2012 show. We feel refreshed and ready for a great year!” said Brydon. The Bretts 2012 show opens on April 16th at the Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater.
